Psychological Counselling
When we work together, my aim is to understand the underlying causes of your concerns and needs, while supporting you in making the choices and changes that feel appropriate for you. I assist you in identifying and altering unhelpful patterns in your attitudes, behaviour, and relationships. Together, we will develop practical and manageable solutions that can be integrated into your daily life.
In order to better understand the root of your concerns, it may sometimes be necessary to briefly explore past experiences, particularly from childhood and adolescence. This can help you understand why you have responded to certain situations in specific ways. By reflecting on these past experiences, you may also recognise that certain patterns are no longer needed and that it is time to move forward and make changes. Since this process can be challenging, I am here to provide support. I offer a warm, confidential, and safe environment where you can explore the issues you are currently facing, within a timeframe that works best for you.
I work with an integration of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, with a primary focus on cognitive-behavioural approaches. Additionally, I incorporate Schema Therapy, which has demonstrated strong positive outcomes in psychological counselling.
Procedure
In the initial session, you will have the opportunity to explain the issues you are struggling with. Together, we will define the main topics you would like to address and establish the goals you wish to achieve by the end of counselling.
This process allows you to evaluate how well changes are being implemented in your daily life and highlights areas where further support may be required.
In cases of intense crises, where you feel overwhelmed and unable to cope, it is possible to schedule more frequent sessions. Sometimes, a brief additional session of 25 minutes may be sufficient. However, intensive care counselling is typically offered for a limited period of time.
